Why opCharts Nodes and Administration Nodes have a different Node count

Why opCharts Nodes and Administration Nodes have a different Node count

Why do I see a difference in the total Node count in opCharts and Administration?

For example, these two screenshots show different totals highlighted in pink: 127 for opCharts and 142 for Administration

Administration → Nodes

One possible reason is that Administration shows every node in the Node table without applying any selection criteria. In contract, opCharts applies a selection criteria, showing only the nodes that are activated for NMIS. So if you have Nodes that are not activated for NMIS, then they will be displayed and counted in Administration, but neither shown or counted in opCharts.

The Activated status is shown as a column in the Administration Nodes screen, and the three icons are for NMIS, opConfig and opEvents respectively. If they are not activated the icon is not shown.

In the example above, in Administration, the first node named s_test_an_ES is not activated for any Modules (highlighted in pink), and specifically for NMIS, so it is not displayed or counted in opCharts.

For more information on Activation, see Common Node Properties | Properties for Licensing and Activation

Possible Reasons

Activation

See the example above.

License Restrictions

There are no license restrictions on the nodes displayed in Administration. There are license restrictions on the number of nodes displayed in opCharts.
